i need some feedback please!!
i plan to play around with the whites of the print designs to help push/pull the figure to make it less flat.
- are the different styles good, or do i need to pick patterns from the same print, perhaps?
- is the figure position good?
- do i need to abstract the figure more or make it look more realistic?
- background-- more, less, dark-light gradient, or does there need to be something there?
PLEASE give me your ideas!! thanks!

time to get down to business..
My goals for this fall are to begin work that focuses on illustrating the human psyche, or subconscious... and all of its complexities. As Webster’s defines it, the psyche is (in classical mythology), “a personification of the soul,” or in more modern terms, “the actuating cause of an individual life.”
The point I'm trying to make, I guess, is that we are much more than we seem to be. And not just people in general, but everything really.. is quite a bit more complex than one might originally perceive.
People, the anatomical construction of objects, the nature of good and evil-- are all completely gray matters. Let's face it: there just IS NO SUCH THING as absolute black or white. No certainty, no answers.
Everyone & everything is governed by some unknown set of infinite, immeasurable rules; rules that we'll never really know or completely understand... but we still acknowledge their existence.
THUS, what is the purpose to all this rambling & conjecturing? I think my intent is to open viewer's eyes to alternate perceptions, and to help them expand their thinking to the complexities that dictate our mind, society, and existence.

my not-so-friendly friend saga... finished at last.
this creepy crawler would not give up. even in death, his presence was difficult to remove.
as i got ready this morning & pulled on my green striped shirt, i noticed what seemed to resemble a brown stain. "darn it," i sighed. how'd i get this thing dirty already?
however, after a closer inspection, to my horror i realized it was the brown spider clinging to the underarm of my shirt! GAH!
after much shaking, jiving, flailing, and frantic spasms, i realized this trooper was NOT coming off. thus commenced a rapid, frenzied, & grunt-filled attempt to tear off the polluted shirt. FINALLY i threw it to the floor and shook out my hair for fear the dreaded friend had invaded that convenient camouflage space.
to my utter relief, my untimely visitor was already deceased.. and i quickly disposed of the fiend as it should have been from the beginning. his grave is unmarked, but the memory of his visit will last in cyberspace eternity.

a spider's visit
this is me looking into my closet this morning. a friend came to see me, in a most intimate space, i might add.
hairy & brown, he crawled around in my closet.. blast after blast of Raid i offered.
"Vive la résistance!" it cried, and scuttled away into a dark corner.
thus began the liberation of said friend from my closet.
out came the clothes, shoes, and cleaning supplies from the innermost depths.. and in went the flashlight, sharp-edged flip-flop, and spray Raid can.
alas! my furry friend thwarted me a second time, and my early morning encounter was cut short by the spider's disappearance.

intimate spaces-- who knows?
i'm imagining what the human mind must look like..
..if we could see the subconscious under a microscope.
